Dr. Facilier, also known as the "Shadow Man", is the main antagonist and a voodoo magician from Walt Disney's The Princess and the Frog. He made a deal with his "Friends on the Other Side" to gain supernatural powers. In the film, he wished to attain the massive fortune from Eli "Big Daddy" LaBouff and take control of New Orleans. He set his plan into motion by using his charisma to trick the Maldonian prince Naveen, and his servant Lawrence into coming to his Voodoo Emporium. He turned Naveen into a frog and Lawrence into the prince himself to get him to marry Big Daddy's daughter, Charlotte LaBouff, in order to inherit Big Daddy's fortune. His plan fails when Tiana, who was frog at that time, broke his magic talisman, causing him to be dragged to the other side by his "Friends".
In Batthan's Ultimate Defender series, he appears in "Shadow World" where he sent his undead legion to kidnap Aqua and made her his mind slave. When the Defenders came to rescue her he created a challenge that if the team is able to snap Aqua from her trance by the time limit, she is able to go free. But they are to give up their souls should they fail. Ethan succeeded in freeing Aqua from her trance with his sacrifice but managed to hold his own long enough to destroy Facilier's staff. As a result, Facilier himself lost the challenge and is dragged to a dark realm by an unknown force who he bargained with, mirroring his defeat in the original film.
